On the night of February 9, Odesa was hit by another attack using strike drones, resulting in damage to civilian infrastructure, according to a post by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, on Telegram. RBC-Ukraine informs.
Enemy drone strike on Odesa
Russian forces once again used strike drones against Odesa and the surrounding region, targeting residential areas of the city.
According to preliminary reports, the attack damaged both apartment buildings and private homes, as well as municipal infrastructure. Several districts experienced disruptions in communications and utilities.
Fires and gas pipeline damage
The strikes caused a fire on the roof of one of the apartment buildings. Damage to a gas pipeline was also reported, requiring urgent intervention by emergency crews.
In addition, several cars and a non-residential building caught fire. Rescue teams promptly began dealing with the aftermath of the attack.
Emergency response
State Emergency Service (DSNS) units, medical teams, gas services, and municipal workers are on site. Efforts are underway to extinguish fires, inspect damaged buildings, and restore essential utilities. Information on possible casualties is being confirmed.
One confirmed dead
It later became known that the enemy drone strike on Odesa resulted in one fatality. Condolences have been expressed to the family and loved ones. Information about other casualties or injuries is still being verified.
For context, on the evening of Sunday, February 8, an air raid alert was again declared in Kyiv, followed by explosions. Preliminary reports indicate that Russian forces once again used ballistic weapons.
Additionally, during the day on Sunday, February 8, a magnitude-3 earthquake was recorded in the Poltava region, marking the second such seismic event in the area in the past three days.
