On 02.02.2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law as a whole under No. 3633 "On Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine on Strengthening Responsibility for Committing Criminal Offenses Against Journalists"

It is a pity, but historically it has happened that crimes against journalists, as well as against lawyers, are committed by persons who are called to protect them by law.

You don't need to look up to understand that we are talking about law enforcement agencies.

The adopted law strengthens compliance, but as practice shows, the problem cannot be solved by increasing responsibility, take for example driving vehicles while intoxicated, as they continue to do so while driving.

Unfortunately, journalists have been harassed and they will continue to do so, in particular law enforcement agencies, because they do not betray their traditions.

Only the principled position of united journalists and lawyers will be able to bring the case to court.
