Drones attacked three Russian "shadow fleet" tankers near Turkey

In the Black Sea near the northern coast of Turkey, drone attacks were recorded on three tankers belonging to Russia's "shadow fleet." This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

Details

"The tanker James II, flying the flag of Palau and traveling without cargo, was approximately 80 km north of the Turkeli district in the Black Sea when the incident occurred. The tankers Altura and Velora, flying the flag of Sierra Leone and also without cargo, were attacked in a neighboring area during a ship-to-ship operation," the publication writes.

Coast guard boats were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance, and the condition of all crew members on the tankers is reportedly satisfactory.

Addendum

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the vessels James II, Altura, and Velora belong to the Russian Federation's "shadow fleet." Specifically, according to the GUR, they are used to transport Russian oil and petroleum products.

Recall

Russia has begun using four more tankers to transport liquefied natural gas from the sanctioned Arctic LNG 2 project, attempting to increase exports and bypass Western restrictions.
