Kharkiv attacked by 17 Shaheds: houses hit, 2 people killed, children among injured

On the night of June 11, russian kamikaze drones massively attacked Kharkiv. Numerous hits were recorded in the city, there are killed and wounded. UKRAINIAN NEWS informs.


Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the channel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.


According to the mayor, the enemy used 17 Shahed drones. The Slobidskyi and Osnovyanskyi Districts were hit.


"There are direct hits on multi-storey buildings, private homes, playgrounds, enterprises and public transport. Burning apartments, destroyed roofs, burnt-out cars, broken windows," the report says.


According to preliminary data, two people were killed, another 17 were injured, including five children. Several residents managed to be rescued from the burning apartments.


"Trolleybuses, a contact network, utility and industrial facilities were damaged. All of these are ordinary objects of peaceful life. Those that should never be targeted," Ihor Terekhov emphasized.


Currently, utility and emergency services, volunteers are working on the ground. They are helping the victims, eliminating the consequences of the shelling, and restoring gas, water and electricity supplies.


As a result of the night attack by suicide drones on Kharkiv, the number of injured has increased to 60 people, including nine children, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.


The shelling occurred on the night of June 11 at around 12:30–12:40 a.m. Russian troops attacked two districts of the city — Slobidskyi and Osnovyanskyi. According to preliminary data, at least 17 Geran-2 drones were launched.


The strikes caused fires, damaged private and apartment buildings, enterprises, shops, kiosks, cars, and trolleybuses. Two people were killed — a 66-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman. Among the injured, many people had injuries of varying severity, some with acute stress reactions. Law enforcement officers opened proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war.
