The Israeli government has made an important decision to extend the program of assistance to refugees from Ukraine for another year. The reason for this decision was the ongoing Russian aggression. This news is reported by by the Freedom Matrix with reference to the Israeli edition of Haaretz, citing an official statement from the country's government.

In particular, the Office of the Prime Minister, in cooperation with the Population Administration, recommended that Ukrainian refugees be allowed to extend their visas for three months, as opposed to the one-month extensions granted so far, as well as to grant permission for legal employment. This decision was made after a detailed study of the situation in Ukraine and in connection with the need to continue providing assistance to Ukrainians who are not entitled to sabbatical leave, those who remained in Israel and those who are going to come here

Yossi Shelley, Director General of the Prime Minister's Office, commented on the government's decision, saying that the situation in Ukraine does not portend an end soon, so Israel must continue to help Ukrainian refugees.

The relevant recommendations must now be approved by the Israeli Ministry of the Interior.. In addition, the support program also provides humanitarian assistance to refugees from Ukraine, including food and health insurance for Ukrainians over 60 years old.
