The United States, Japan, and South Korea will conduct large-scale military exercises at Freedom Edge. The countries will involve military aircraft and ships in the drills, Yonhap reports. RBC-Ukraine informs.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea announced that on Wednesday, November 13, a three-day exercise will begin as part of strengthening cooperation through deepening North Korea's cooperation with Russia.
The exercise will take place in international waters south of the South Korean resort island of Jeju. This is the second such exercise. The first took place four months ago.
The second round of Freedom Edge will involve various warships and aircraft, including the US aircraft carrier George Washington, the South Korean ROKS Seoae Ryu Seong-ryong destroyer, and Japan's JS Haguro destroyer.
The exercises will cover a number of areas, including air defense, missile defense, anti-submarine warfare, maritime interdiction, and cyber defense.
