By the end of that week, Patriot air defense systems and additional interceptors had already arrived in Ukraine thanks to a deal with Germany, The Telegraph reports. Ukrainian News informs.
It is reported that within hours of russian president vladimir putin and Mr. Trump discussing an end to the war by phone, russia launched a massive shelling of Kyiv on July 4, the US President expressing disappointment at his russian counterpart's refusal to stop strikes on Ukrainian cities and at the same time reject the American proposal for a ceasefire.
General Kellogg informed Trump of the latest attack and how the Polish embassy, a NATO ally, had been damaged in the strikes. The envoy then used the appeal to promote the resumption of supplies of Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also began offering to buy Patriot systems, which would be aimed at strengthening the defenses of the war-torn country.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte went further, offering Trump the opportunity to receive billions of dollars in compensation from European allies and Canada for the American-made weapons supplied to Ukraine.

The Pentagon and the White House used the move to try to convince European countries to take the risk and send the stocks they have to Kyiv, waiting for America to replenish them.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 14, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine would receive 17 MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems.
NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Alexus Hrynkevich, confirmed that preparations for the Patriot delivery to Ukraine were underway. He reported that he had been instructed to do so as soon as possible.
