Egypt and Pakistan prepare long-term peace plan between US and Iran - Reuters


Egypt is working closely with Pakistan on a framework agreement aimed at ensuring lasting peace between the US and Iran, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said on Saturday. This was reported by Reuters, writes UNN.

Badr Abdelatty noted that Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia are coordinating broader regional efforts focused on preventing further escalation and laying the groundwork for a post-war security arrangement, emphasizing the importance of protecting Gulf countries and stabilizing energy markets, supply chains, and food security.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi announced the Strait of Hormuz to be "fully open" for the "rest of the ceasefire."


Subsequently, the Iranian authorities announced the re-closure of the Strait of Hormuz and accused the United States of "violating agreements." At the same time, in the Persian Gulf on Saturday, April 18, several oil tankers turned back after attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
